Welcome Back BBQ!

What better way to re-connect with studio friends and make NEW studio friends than at BSD's Annual Welcome Back BBQ? This fun filled day is usually held on the 3rd Saturday in September.  Be sure to stop by..you never know who might show up!!

Stay Informed at BSD!

We make every effort to make sure our studio is well organized and our families are well informed of all events at the studio;

CALL BOARDS: there are a group of chalk boards and cork boards outside the girl’s changeroom that always have up to date information including events, dates and details. Please check the Call Board on a regular basis.

STUDENT FILES: each family at the studio has their own file for newsletters and any other studio correspondence. Please check your student files regularly.

COMPETITIVE INFORMATION BINDER: a binder will be placed in the lobby with a copy of each email distributed by the studio. Please consult this Binder if you are not sure if you have received an email, or need to confirm any information.

EMAIL: will be used to communicate with parents and senior students. Please make sure the studio has a valid email address on file!

Annual Recital

Our year-end recital is our most important and exciting event of the year! "Studio Dances" takes place over three evenings, at Burlington Performing Arts Centre, 440 Locust Street, Burlington ON, L7S 1T7

ALL students must be present at the Dress Rehearsal and BOTH Performances. Please remember that running order is the same for both shows.

  • Tuesday, June 11 - Dress Rehearsal
  • Wednesday, June 12 - Performance 1
  • Thursday, June 13 - Performance 2

All students are to arrive at 6:00 p.m. all three nights. Please have students arrive in costume, hair and neutral make up completed.  All students must bring all appropriate dance shoes and tights to all three nights.

TICKETS go on sale in Friday, May 17th through the Burlington Performing Arts Centre Box Office.  BSD will NOT be selling tickets at the studio.

Prices are;

  • $22 ~ Adults
  • $15 ~ Children (12 & under)

Community Events

In addition to participating in the annual Santa Claus Parade, BSD also performs in other community events throughout the year.

Some Events include;

Canada Strawberry Festival – hosted by Joseph Brant Memorial Museum, this event takes place on Canada Day at the museum or at Spencer Smith Park. Number are taken from the recital and performed twice throughout the day. Students receive free strawberries and ice cream after they dance!

Children's Festival – takes place the first weekend in August, in Spencer Smith Park. Performances are showcased on a main stage, and numbers from the recital are invited and include dancers from each of our dance programs.

As these events are confirmed, details will be made available on the Call Board at the studio and through our studio newsletters.

Picture Day

Picture Day for all students is Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Burlington Studio Dance.  Pictures will once again be taken by Trillium Photography.  Order forms are available on picture day, and all payments must be CASH or CHEQUE payable to Trillium Photography.

We ask that all students are arrive at BSD half an hour prior to picture their time. (A complete picture day schedule is emailed out to BSD familes prior to May 26)

Upon arrival, students should check in at the reception desk to pick up your costume(s).  There will be a balance owing on all costumes.  Balances will be available on picture day.  Please be advised that all accounts must be in good standing before the release of the student’s costume.  

After Picture Day, all costumes and accessories are the responsibility of the parents.  Please do not let students try on or play with their costumes before recital weekend, to avoid damaging the costumes.  Please label all costumes and accessories.

All hair and accessories are to be worn for every photo.  For further information please see our “Recital Information Newsletter” which will be emailed to families in May.
